Which creative opportunities do you see in the ceramic material?

In the sketching phase, ceramics is one of the most flexible materials to work with. It can be beautifully modeled and the result is simple and pure. When baked, it has texture and volume, which is hard to find in other massive and solid materials. Also, the level of detail and the accuracy of the material are optimal and precise.

Where do you find inspiration for your artistic expression?

In simplicity, functionality, timelessness and the aesthetics of the material.

Besides from your collaboration with Kähler, what keeps you occupied these days?

My partner, Jonas Trampedach, and I are currently working on a lighting project for a major Danish lamp manufacturer.

Which feelings would you like your Kähler products to engender?

That the user buys a product that is perfect – both when it comes to function, use and aesthetics. That it becomes an integral part of the interior decor and that the user exploits and enjoys this multi-functional product.

Have there been benefits from your collaboration with Kähler?

JKähler is one of the few distinguished Danish companies that specialize in ceramics. Kähler has an exciting, cultural heritage, which I am proud to be part of. Also, they are visionary and believe in new, young designers.

Who is your favourite amongst all the other Kähler designers?

I would say Cecilie Manz.
