Louise Hindsgavl is one of the greatest women ceramic artists of today. She has won several grants and her work has been exhibited at many prestigious galleries, in Denmark and abroad. The exhibitions include Trapholt and the Biennale for Contemporary Ceramics in France, and she has received grants from the Danish Arts Foundation. Her work is permanently exhibited at Galleri Christoffer Egelund.
Hindsgavl is primarily known for her provocative porcelain sculptures, some of which she has designed in collaboration with Kähler. She wants to show us the uncensored version of the world, addressing elements such as provocation, doubt and humor–which is a challenging and enthusiastic form of expression.
Hindsgavl graduated from the Design School Kolding in 1999 and took additional courses at Cencal, the ceramics vocational centre in Potugal.
