Born in 1972, Cecilie Manz is educated at the Danish Design School Copenhagen in her native Denmark as well as University of Art and Design in Helsinki, Finland.
Since 1998 she has worked from her own studio for some of the biggest brands in the design industry. As well as exhibiting in her own name in Denmark, Finland, France and Japan, she is celebrated for her unique design all over the world and is the recipient of the If Award, the Red Dot Award, Finn Juhl’s Architectural Prize, Kunstpreis Berlin and the Danish Crown Prince Couples Cultural Award (2014) just to name a few.
Cecilie Manz designs furniture, glass, lamps and related products, mainly for the home. Her work has always revolved around simplicity as well as the process of working toward a pure, aesthetic and narrative object.
Her latest collection for Kähler is Kaolin, which as the name suggest, pays homage to the material itself. Released in the spring of 2016, it is a unique, crisp and clean tableware series for the modern and contemporary home with element designed in bone china, maple wood and stainless steel.
