Agnes Fries graduated from the Ceramics and Glass Design Department of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts School of Design (aka. Danish Design Shool) in 2005.
She has earned great praise both in Denmark and abroad for her functional pottery, and in 2006 she received a travel grant from the Danish Ministry of Culture.
Fries was attached to Kähler in 2008 with her Bottino series of vases inspired by the classic fishing floats. For her, design is a way of understanding society through aesthetics. In her work for Kähler she focuses on designing beautiful and affordable design objects.
Fries exhibited at the Biennale for Crafts and Design and Design 2009 at Trapholt. Moreover, Kähler's and Fries' Bottino series was singled out by Wallpaper magazine as one of the highlights of the 2009 Tendence fair in Frankfurt.
